As a future small business owner hoping to locate in the Finger Lakes region, I am opposed to any type of drilling which directly affects the environment and natural areas in which we live .I have been researching the current issues for some time and have been in touch with several other organizations. As I work full time, it is difficult for me to attend events, but would appreciate any type of material you can pass on to me(emails, brochures, etc). Thank you for all the work you do and please keep me posted.

Glad you’re interested in getting more involved. There’s no official EF meeting happening regularly around town. However, there’s Ef’ers everywhere, and we mobilize when it’s the right time and place. The best way to keep in touch is to get involved with any of the various regional groups. Go to wwww.shaleshock.org and look at the “regional groups” tab, or the “projects” tab to get involved in this movement.

Hey all,

I’m a student at Ithaca College studying environmental studies, policy, and climate justice. I’ve been all about EarthFirst! since seeing a documentary from crimethinc called “Pickaxe.” That love has been fueled by a love for Ed Abbey and a general frustration from what I’ve learned about environmental politics and justice so far. I was just interested in seeing what EarthFirst! is up to in the fingerlakes, and seeing what support/involvement I can offer.

I went to a informational meeting in Penn Yan the speaker was Anthony R. Ingraffea and I cannot believe they would even consider endangering the water supply. I was only aware of FRACK because I was in Hammondsport and asked a woman what the FRACK sign ment. I have written to the govenor and Senators but what else can I do to help?
